An electric company employee was seriously injured at 4:30 a.m. on Nov. 7 while doing work in the Sepulveda Boulevard tunnel near Los Angeles International Airport, according to the Daily Breeze.

The suspected drunk driver was in a large four-door pickup and reportedly cleared the tunnel and slammed into the electric company’s truck that was carrying a lighted, flashing directional arrow. The electric company truck then hit the employee in the roadway as he was picking up traffic cones.

He suffered two broken bones and a concussion, a Los Angeles police traffic investigator told the newspaper.
