DENTON, TEXAS – Peterbilt Motors Company announced a $346,464 donation to the United Way of Denton County’s 2012 fundraising campaign. The donation was presented to Gary Henderson, president and CEO of the United Way of Denton, on Thursday, December 13th at Peterbilt's manufacturing facility in Denton, Texas.

“Peterbilt is extremely proud of its employees and their dedication to continue to help improve the lives of those in our community,” says Bill Kozek, Peterbilt general manager and PACCAR vice president. “This year, our employees’ generous contributions raised a record setting amount through several fundraising activities. These contributions to the United Way of Denton County will make a difference in our community.”

As the largest corporate contributor to the United Way of Denton County, Peterbilt has donated more than $2 million dollars over the last six years.

“The generosity shown by the leadership and employees of Peterbilt will allow us to serve a large portion of our population's needs,” says Henderson. “Peterbilt is an outstanding corporate citizen and we are certainly blessed to have them as a part of our community.”

(The United Way of Denton County has been facilitating and mobilizing resources since 1951 focusing on distributing resources across three strategic areas; education, income, and health. Denton County is the 9th largest in Texas, and the City of Denton is the 7th fastest growing community in the nation, according to Henderson.

“This is really a great event for Peterbilt employees,” said Kozek. “Many of them went above and beyond with their contributions and generosity. It’s a true testament to the spirit of Peterbilt.”
