WASHINGTON – Autocar Industries, an Indiana-based manufacturer of refuse and street sweeper trucks as well as yard tractors, is issuing three separate recalls so dealers can replace steel wheels (model 90262) manufactured by Hayes Lemmerz.

Because of an inadequate weld between the wheel disc and rim, separation might occur, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported. The recalls cover certain 2012 model-year Xpert trucks, 2012-2013 model-year Xpeditor trucks, and 2012-2013 model-year Autocar Xspotter yard tractors.

The first recall includes 64 2012 model-year Xpert trucks, manufactured March 19, 2012 through Nov. 1, 2012, which have serial numbers in the range of 214112 through 215156.

The second recall involves 222 2012-2013 model-year Autocar Xpeditor trucks, manufactured March 13, 2012 through Nov. 29, 2012, that have serial numbers in the range of 214008 through 215308.

The third recall covers 38 2012-2013 model-year Autocar Xspotter yard tractors, manufactured May 10, 2012 through Nov. 29, 2012, that have serial numbers in the range of 214110 through 215068.

These recalls are expected to get under way around Feb. 12. Vehicle owners can reach Autocar at 1-765-489-5499.
