GRAND HAVEN, MI – The Grand Haven Board of Light & Power is purchasing a hybrid bucket truck, according to www.grandhaventribune.com. The Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle truck will use around half as much fuel as a typical bucket truck.

It uses less fuel while driving and also doesn’t need the diesel engine to power the hydraulic bucket truck or climate control functions. The truck requires an eight-hour charge, which will be accomplished at night from a 240-volt outlet during off-peak hours when electricity is cheaper.
