FMCSA Waives Hours Regs for Gulf States Drivers

WASHINGTON – Motor carriers and drivers providing emergency in areas affected by Hurricane Gustav will be relieved of federal hours-of-service regulations, the Federal Motor Carrier Administration said, according to www.ttnews.com.

The exemptions are regardless of the commodity carried, FMCSA said in a statement. They run in Louisiana and Texas through Sept. 26, in Alabama through Sept. 28, and in Mississippi through Sept. 30.
