In some fleets,
though, the LEER “wedge,” that slopes up from the cab, offers an aerodynamic
benefit with a capacity just slightly smaller than the straight front
“hi-rise.” Aerodynamic improvement plays a major roll in lowering the
co-efficient of drag, a direct component of fuel mileage.
Another benefit of
the LEER DCC is the structural material of choice: Aluminum. Aluminum offers
the perfect combination of structural strength, stiffness, corrosion
resistance, and light weight. A lighter cap means drivers can carry more
payload with fewer trips. TIG welding and variable thicknesses of tubing help
ensure that critical-use areas are properly reinforced to withstand years of
hard labor.
