ORLANDO, FL – LEER, North American manufacturer of fiberglass truck caps and tonneaus, is supporting No Limits and The Coalition to Salute America’s Heroes, as they launch the first Mark Wellman Adventure Sports Expo at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort in Orlando, Fla., Nov. 30– Dec. 5, as part of the fourth annual Road to Recovery Conference.

Mark Wellman of No Limits is producing an adaptive adventure sports event aimed at United States soldiers with disabilities such as visual impairment, amputation, brain or spinal cord injury, and burn injury. The event includes a motivational presentation by Mark, himself a disabled adventure sportsman, and VA recreational therapists; and hands-on clinics featuring world elite athletes, paralympians, and instructors demonstrating various adaptive sports equipment and technologies.

Wellman, a seasoned athlete who has broken new ground as a participant in adventure sports, can often be found on a snowy ski slope or at the base of a rocky climb. His preferred means of transportation for himself and the gear he needs is a full-size pickup truck equipped with a LEER fiberglass truck cap. The LEER cap provides a huge weather-protected secure, locking space to transport everything needed for adventure; it also offers ceiling-mounted Thule roof racks and accessories for long or bulky items that don’t fit inside the truck.

For the planned Sports Expo, Wellman has assembled some of the latest adaptive equipment, including a mobile climbing wall, a revolving artificial snow ski deck, and recumbent and tandem bicycles, to give attendees hands-on experience, with expert instructors and coaches on hand to assist. An Information and Resource Station will provide information on adaptive sports organizations, resource info on how to learn about and purchase adaptive sports equipment and support gear, like LEER truck caps and Thule roof rack systems, and video footage of adventure sports athletes with physical disabilities.
