TALLAHASSEE, FL – The Florida Department of Transportation may be changing the rules of the road to limit the lanes truck drivers can use, NBC 2 News reported. Semitrucks in Orlando are no longer allowed to use the left-hand lane on I-4. There, they can only use the two lanes on the right. The DOT said that might be the new precedent for Florida’s strip of I-75 by 2010.

Also, the DOT said if the rule goes through, I-75 would be safer because there would be less weaving around trucks and a lower disparity in the speed between trucks and cars.
