SAN MATEO, CA – Allied Waste Services will convert its entire 225-truck fleet to clean-burning, locally sourced biodiesel fuel. The move marks one of the largest biodiesel conversions of heavy-duty trucks in Northern California, and will have a positive environmental impact by significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions in San Mateo County.

By converting from 80,000 gallons of petroleum diesel each month to clean-burning B-20 biodiesel, Allied will reduce its local carbon footprint by more than 3.3 million pounds each year — the equivalent of taking more than 315 cars off Bay Area roads or providing energy to more than 650 homes each year.
