MIAMI, FL – Ryder System, Inc. has presented its annual “Driver of the Year” awards to three professionals who, combined, have driven nearly 10 million injury-free miles and have more than 106 years of professional driving experience. The top awards this year were presented to two drivers employed by Ryder and a driver employed by one of Ryder’s Fleet Management Solutions customers.

Lloyd Moreau was named 2006 Driver of the Year for Ryder’s U.S. Supply Chain Solutions Automotive, Aerospace, and Industrial Industries business segment. Moreau has been a Ryder employee for 22 years and serves General Motors Service and Parts Operations. During his 35-year career as a professional driver, Moreau logged more than 3.2 million collision- and injury-free miles.

Gary Cockrell was named 2006 Driver of the Year for Ryder’s U.S. Supply Chain Solutions High Tech and Consumer Industries. Cockrell has been a professional driver with Ryder for more than 26 years. Throughout his 31-year career, Mr. Cockrell has driven 2.9 million collision- and injury-free miles.

Carey Young was named Ryder’s Fleet Management Solutions 2006 Driver of the Year. Young is a professional driver for Ryder customer RHC Logistics Corporation, where he has logged more than 3.8 million accident- and injury-free miles during his 40 years of service.
