GAFFNEY, SC – To be more specific, Newmar Corp. will be offering Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation’s (FCCC) FRED chassis in its 2008 Grand Star motorhome-the newest addition to the Newmar Class A lineup. The Grand Star’s optional FRED chassis, powered by the new 6.7L Cummins ISB engine, has an impressive 340 horsepower and 660 lb.-ft. of torque-while offering consumers fuel economy up to 70 percent better than that of a traditional gasoline-powered chassis.

Other FRED features include a 55-degree wheel cut for greater maneuverability, a “flat floor” with no doghouse in the cockpit area, 26,000-lb. GVWR for increased floorplan options, and Freightliner’s nationwide network of more than 400 service locations.

The 2008 Newmar Grand Star is expected to arrive on dealer lots early in the 2008 model year (spring 2007).
