ALLENTOWN, PA – Clinton Eshleman, who works for Roadway Express Service Center in Pocono Township, celebrated 37 years and 4 million miles of safe driving, according to the Web site www.layover.com. The 64-year-old Chestnuthill Township drives a blue and orange 18-wheeler, and he now has his name and a star emblazoned on the cab door, marking “3 million miles of safe driving.” An upgraded sticker will be delivered shortly.

Only 20 drivers in the company’s 77-year history have achieved such a feat. Of those, eight remain active in Roadway’s 12,273-member fleet.

Eshleman said he’s always been a cautious driver, never speeding and always yielding. Even in his personal time, he’s only caused one accident: a fender-bender at a red light when he was 18 years old, according to www.layover.com.
