Fleet Sales Decline 12% in April

Vehicle manufacturers sold 12.2% fewer cars, trucks, vans, and SUVs to rental, commercial, and government fleet buyers in April compared to a year ago in what has become a softening market for new vehicle sales.

Republic Services Expands Twin Cities CNG-Powered Fleet

Republic Services unveiled today a new compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling station and more than 50 new CNG-powered trucks to serve customers throughout the Twin Cities region. The new CNG trucks are replacing older, diesel-powered trucks in the Company’s Twin Cities-based fleet.

Nokian Plans U.S. Tire Factory

Nokian Tyres Inc. is building a factory in the U.S., which will product light truck tires among others. The plant, to be located in southeast Tennessee, will have an initial capacity to produce 4 million tires annually, and the site also will house a distribution center.
