Orders of Classes 5 to 7 vehicles fell 18% in November from October and 10% from a year ago, according to ACT Research.

Customers orders about 17,000 medium-duty vehicles in November in a month that's typically flat for the category, said Kenny Vieth, ACT's president and senior analyst.

"Year-to-date medium duty orders are flat," Vieth said. "November is a neutral month on a seasonal basis, with adjustment reducing orders to 17,000."
