Sales of Class 5-7 trucks in October recorded "measured growth" and still lag behind the Class 8 growth trajectory for the year, according to ACT Research.

Net orders for Classes 5-7 came in at 22,453 for their strongest monthly level since February of 2008. Class 5 orders rose 15 percent, while Class 6-7 orders rose 19 percent compared to September orders.

“October truck orders drove the market (16% month over month), while buses (down 43%) and RVs (down 21%) took a breather,” said Steve Tam, ACT’s vice president of the commercial vehicle sector.
