Family-run Bleigh Ready Mix recently welcomed Freightliner Trucks to the team when it started adding vehicles upfitted by Kimble Mixer of New Philadelphia, Ohio.

The performance of Bleigh's first order of the Freightliner 114SD in 2013 has led to four additional Kimble Mixers on Freightliner chassis joining the Bleigh Ready Mix fleet in 2014.

“We've been doing business with Kimble Mixer for 15 years,” said Bridget Bleigh, general manager of Bleigh Ready Mix. “They came through the area in 2013 with a Freightliner demo truck, and we asked them for a quote. We received the quote in two days, which was pretty amazing. We were impressed by the service.”

Midway Freightliner opened in 2009 in Palmyra, Mo., making it simple for Bleigh Ready Mix to get service for its mixers operating from Hannibal and Bowling Green, Mo., as well as Quincy, Ill. Bleigh says she has been impressed with the service from Midway Freightliner.

Bleigh said another major consideration in purchasing a new truck is driver satisfaction.

“We want our drivers to be happy with the trucks they are driving,” Bleigh says. “We like to have a roomy cab. Many of our drivers are big and tall guys. They like to have good visibility, which the Freightliner 114SD does offer. And the Freightliner trucks maneuver and turn very well, which is important on job sites.”

Bleigh Ready Mix trucks are very recognizable on the road with signature stars-and-stripes graphics on each drum. “When we go down the road people wave and stop and salute our trucks,” Bleigh said. A Bleigh Ready Mix Freightliner truck with the Kimble Mixer upfit was on display at the most recent World of Concrete trade show in Las Vegas. Bleigh Ready Mix also uses Facebook to connect with customers and the community via social media, sharing photographs of its trucks, projects, and community activities.
