ADRIAN, MI – Venchurs Vehicle Systems (VVS), a Ford qualified vehicle modifier (QVM) for compressed natural gas (CNG) conversions, will be joining Encana, a North American energy producer, at the latter’s Natural Gas Fueling Solutions Experience in Shreveport, La., on April 12. During the ride and drive portion of the event, fleet buyers will have the opportunity to test a CNG Ford truck.

VVS offers both bi-fuel and CNG-dedicated conversions for Ford F-250/350 trucks as a QVM. Because Venchurs is a QVM, the original Ford warranty stays intact, the conversions can be financed through Ford Credit, and standard Ford diagnostic equipment can service the vehicles.

CNG has been gaining momentum as a fueling option for a variety of reasons including lower fuel and maintenance costs, fewer emissions, a reduced dependency of foreign oil, and a higher safety rating, according to VVS. The company’s bi-fuel system allows for a seamless, “on-the-fly” switching of the fuel supply and offers a total fuel range of up to 650 miles.

One of the biggest concerns of fleet managers when considering the switch to CNG is loss of performance, according to VVS. With the VVS system, the change in performance is minuscule, which fleet managers will have the opportunity to experience behind the wheel during the ride and drive demo.

“We are leading the way in demo unit availability, and we think that’s very important,” said Terry Karges, VP of sales and marketing for VVS. “We’re confident that once fleet managers have tested our systems, they’ll place orders. We do, however, understand that converting to CNG is a big decision, and want buyers to have the reassurance of testing a unit before making a commitment.”
