Charles Stevenson has been promoted to director of fleet and supply chain management for Aqua America, according to a company press release.

Prior to his recent promotion, Stevenson was the manager of fleet and materials management at Aqua America where he was responsible for the company’s 12,000-vehicle fleet, vendor management, inventory control and maintenance, and materials management. Under his new position, he will now be responsible for purchasing as well.

The company’s CFO Dave Smeltzer said that combining the company’s purchasing operation with its inventory and materials management operation was a natural fit and believes that the combined department’s efficiency will benefit from the collaboration.

Stevenson has been with Aqua America for 28 years and has received accolades during his time with the company. Last year he was a winner of the 2014 Sustainability All-Star Award at the Green Fleet Conference & Expo.
