DEARBORN, MI - According to J Mays, group vice president of global design and Ford's Chief creative officer, the Ford F-250 Super Chief concept builds on the Ford Truck reputation and truck leadership commitment the company has had for 25 years in this country.
As you know we have the F-150, F-250, F-350, 450 and within that 250, 350, range we have something called the SuperDuty, that is a big workhorse. What we're trying to do is look at the ceiling of how luxurious can we go, with a truck. We think that there is a market, absolutely there for something that is far more high-end that still has a Ford Blue-Oval on it so the natural extension of the F-250 Super Duty would be to create a F-250 SuperChief," said Mays.
The Super Chief is based on the Ford F-250 Super Duty pickup, part of the best-selling F-Series lineup. The concept reinforces Ford's commitment to truck leadership, building on the F-Series legacy and representing the pinnacle of rugged optimism. According to Mays, when you look at the F-250 Super Chief you're looking at the future of Ford trucks.

"We call this you're sort of personal train, when you see it, it has a wonderful front end that is very evocative of the next generation of Ford trucks, it's a very important vehicle for us, it also has a clean-burning V-10 hydrogen engine, so we're not feeling guilty about emissions or dirtying the air. And I think you listeners, if they have a chance to go to the auto show, will absolutely love this truck. It is bold, it is American, in probably a way in no other vehicle that we have done in recent memory could be," said Mays.
