Altec Industries is recalling 200 2015-2016 model-year aerial device and digger derrick vehicles equipped with front bumper winches or capstans, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported.

These trucks have a hydraulic motor whose shaft may fail, resulting in unexpected movement of the winch or the capstan, NHTSA said. This condition might increase the risk of injury.

The aerial device and digger derrick trucks were manufactured from Dec. 26, 2015, to March 30, 2016.

Altec will replace the hydraulic motor, free of charge, to resolve the problem. The recall is expected to begin Aug. 17.

Owners can reach Altec customer service at (205) 991-7733. Altec’s number for this recall is CSN 635.
