The CEI Group, Inc. (CEI) will focus on how truck fleets can improve their recovery of accident damages from third-party drivers at the National Private Truck Council Education Management Conference and Exhibition in Cincinnati, Ohio next week.
"We estimate that a significant portion of the $272 million in annual accident damage expenses that the trucking industry could recover from at-fault third-party drivers isn't being recovered," said Luann Dunkerley, CEI's national manager of business development for truck and service fleets.
The reason, she said, is that many companies try to manage the process internally and lack the resources and experience necessary to maximize their recoveries.
Using a department of loss recovery specialists with an average tenure of 10 years, CEI has recovered $175 million in damages for its fleet clients the past five years, Ms. Dunkerley noted.
Ms. Dunkerley, who is on the board of governors of the National Private Truck Council Institute, will lead CEI's contingent at the NPTC exhibition at Booth 523. The event is being held at the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza and the Duke Energy Convention Center April 28-30.
