LISLE, IL - Navistar International has announced that it is recalling certain model-year 2010-2013 PayStar, WorkStar, TranStar, and ProStar vehicles, as well as model-year 2012 and 2013 LoneStar commercial trucks manufactured from June 1, 2009 through April 4, 2012.

The recall applies to vehicles equipped with a MaxxForce 11 or 13 engine and the Bosch Alternator feature.

Navistar said that the alternator cable on affected vehicles may “rub on the high pressure power steering hose, possibly chafing its insulation and causing an electrical short.”

Each driver affected by the recall will receive an official notice, though Navistar has not yet provided a timetable for exactly when.  Navistar will perform any inspections or repairs pertaining to this recall free of charge.
