Celebrating its 35th Anniversary, H.K. Truck Center sheds light on the motivation behind their commitment to their customers, sharing the story behind their company’s start. Featuring Founder and President Henry Knabe, Jr., their latest video reaches into Henry’s early life and interest as a mechanic helping his customers. From repairing mowers to working a shop, Henry reveals the turning point that led him to start his own business.
Henry Knabe founded H.K. Truck Center in 1982 from humble beginnings in a service truck parked in his driveway and from there slowly grew to include a hand-picked team. The company moved into its first facility in 1988, and now employs over two dozen people. Its current facility is located in South Plainfield, N.J.
H.K. Truck Center is a Hino and Fuso dealership and a NationaLease member. An active member of their local community, the company also was a finalist for the 2016 Successful Dealer Award and received Hino Elite Management Awards for every member of their core management team in 2016. They have been featured in Ratchet + Wrench as well as Successful Dealer and Fleet Owner.
“Sometimes you have some pretty big disappointments but the successes way overshadow that. It’s most important to me that I push myself over the years to make myself the best that I can be… that is why, in another 20 or 30 years, H.K. Truck Center is still going to be here," said Henry Knabe Jr. of H.K. Truck Center.
