“We are pleased to offer the 2016 Fleet Purchasing Outlook to our partners in the work truck industry,” said NTEA Executive Director Steve Carey. “This resource explores current motivations of commercial fleet managers and highlights overall purchasing behavior — both historic and anticipated.”
The Outlook — based on survey responses from a diverse pool of fleet professionals in mid- to high-level management with decision-making authority — carefully examines the latest results and benchmarks against data from NTEA’s 2013–2015 reports. Noteworthy callouts include:
Average truck age is rising for nearly 40 percent of respondents.
More than half of participating fleets continue to exceed their normal replacement cycle.
Ninety-five percent of respondents report likely-to-sure funding for planned 2016 acquisitions
