Walmart is planning to test an online shipping subscription service similar to Amazon Prime, according to a report from The Information. Walmart will price their delivery service under Amazon’s at $50 per year compared with $99 for Prime.

Walmart is making the move to better compete with the online retailing giant with products arriving through the service in three days or less. Unlike Amazon Prime, Walmart’s subscription has no streaming media component like Amazon’s Prime Instant Video and Prime Music.

The service will be available by invitation to start out and will offer more than 1 million of the company’s top-selling items.

The service was internally codenamed "Tahoe" and was supposed to launch prior to the holidays last year but has been delayed several times. The service is reportedly set to launch in the late spring or early summer.
