Sales of vehicles to commercial fleets increased 3.4 percent in April to 66,260 units during a month that registered an increase from March and pushed total fleet sales to 5.9 percent for the first four months of the year.

Passenger cars shows a stronger growth trajectory for nine manufacturers in 2015. Cars saw a 16.8-percent gain to 11,979 units from April of 2014. Sales of fleet trucks, vans, and SUVs continued to pace sales in terms of volume with an increase of 0.8 percent to 54,281 units.

Fleet sales have risen 5.9 percent to 215,189 for 2015 compared to the first four months of 2014. Car fleet sales have increased 7 percent, while truck fleet sales have increased 5.6 percent.
