Plastics design and manufacturing company Meese Orbitron Dunne Co., has introduced a line of rugged underbody truck storage boxes that mount underneath the body of landscape trucks, utility and mechanic’s trucks, and other commercial vehicles to create extra space for secure storage.

Ideal for storing and transporting lawn and landscape equipment, construction tools, and other gear that needs to be kept locked and dry, the new underbody boxes are rotationally molded from 100-percent waterproof polyethylene (HDPE) to deliver the high strength and impact resistance of heavier, metal boxes but in a smooth, lighter weight design that does not rust and resists chemical attack from fuels, fertilizers, and garden chemicals, according to the manufacturer.

To be unveiled at GIE Expo booth #271 in Louisville, Ky., Oct. 22, 2014, the line of underbody storage boxes features three sizes spanning two, three and four feet in length by 18 inches high and 18 inches deep.

The lockable truck boxes come with a plated steel locking hasp set within a clever recess that diverts rain and snow away from the lock. The boxes ship by UPS in a single carton and are priced from $83.97 plus shipping. Locks and mounting kits are separate.
