Snap-on offers its Metered UV Dye Injector Gun with Hose Coupler (part ID ACTUVPROKT), which is designed to help technicians find leaks in air-conditioning systems.
The gun allows a technician to inject a small amount of dye into an A/C system and by using a UV light with UV-enhancing amber glasses, the technician can locate a leak and take steps to repair the system.
Snap-on offers a 12-oz. cartridge with pre-measured amounts of dye in each. The universal dye is safe for all A/C systems, according to the company, and this product is SAE-certified and OEM-approved, Snap-on stated.
