Eaton announced the availability of its new high-performance electronic multiplex switch module, which provides increased flexibility and sealing ratings for buses, recreational, emergency, street sweepers, mobile hydraulics, and other specialty vehicles by providing users with a comprehensive and simple dash-panel switch solution.

Eaton multiplexing technology allows users to reduce the complexity and cost of harness wires and reduces the overall weight of the vehicle, according to the manufacturer. Reduced wiring translates into more space in the cab, lower system costs and less installation time.  The products are available from authorized Eaton distributor Peerless Electronics Inc. Peerless also offers value added assembly services.

These modules feature LED backlit graphics with standard top, center, and bottom LED lighting. The electronic multiplex switch module can incorporate customizable graphics or industry-standard laser etching. The system’s software provides circuit and lighting flexibility with J1939 CAN bus controllable dimming, mode, scaling and flashing options.

The Eaton electronic multiplex switch system uses a master module and has expansion capabilities. The Eaton system can connect up to 24 switches with a single wiring harness by using a three-wire interconnection between the expansion modules – reducing system complexity. The system connects easily utilizing with Deutsch DT Connectors.
