NationaLease, a  full service truck leasing organization, recently held its Financial Officers Meeting in Lisle, Ill, at the Hyatt Lisle, which gave financial officers from the member companies the opportunity to discuss the pressing topics facing their businesses and hear from experts in a variety of fields.

Charmaine Hollaway and Jeff Rosset of MidwestHR opened with a discussion of the Affordable Care Act and the strategies companies are using to reduce healthcare costs. Dan North, chief economist with Euler Hermes, offered insight into how the current economic climate evolved; Chris Patrick of Cottingham & Butler offered a presentation on the state of commercial insurance; and Rob DeVincent of Corcentric gave an overview showing member companies how to streamline their accounts payable functions.

The day concluded with a presentation from Neil Dishman of Jackson Lewis, LLC on Wage and Hour Law and the mistakes employers make by misclassifying workers. David Nitzsche, senior vice president of supply management, held a session covering NationaLease Supply Management programs and Jeff Spence, vice president of national accounts, provided an update on the National Accounts programs.

The second day began with a presentation by Pete Thursby and Cameron Dayne, both from Wells Fargo, covering the current state of debt capital markets as well as interest rate market trends and effective hedging strategies. Following the presentation, an interactive Best Practices Round Table covered a wide variety of topics, including financing strategies, management reports, wellness programs, credit check processes, and more. The meeting concluded with a report from Tom James, president and CEO of TRALA on the FASB Lease Accounting Standards project.
