NGVAmerica has appointed a new chairman and interim executive director, as well as set up a search committee to find a new president, who resigned in April.

NGVAmerica appointed Mitchell Pratt as chair of its board of directors to replace the departing Gordon Excel, the vice president and general manager of heavy duty trucking with Westport Fuel Systems, the association announced May 10.

Pratt, the chief operating officer of Clean Energy Fuels Corp., has been serving as a board member and executive committee member with NGVAmerica. He has more than 30 years of experience in the natural gas industry.

The group's president, Matthew Godlewski, is stepping down this month to take a position with Ford Motor Co. He announced his departure in April. The organization has formed a search committee to identify a replacement.

The board has also appointed Kathryn Clay as its interim executive director effective on May 15. Clay serves as vice president for policy at the American Gas Association (AGA). Clay will lead the day-to-day oversight of the organization during the transition period to a new president, while continuing in her role with AGA. Clay was also recently appointed to the NGVAmerica board and executive committee.
