MIAMI – Ryder and others will discuss how to successfully invest in wireless technology at the 5th Wireless & Mobile Technology for Trucking and Delivery Fleets Conference, held at the Radisson Downtown Miami Hotel, Feb. 20-21, 2007, (www.eyefortransport.com/wirelesstruck/index.shtml).
Ninety-two percent of America's Top 100 fleets think that enhancing wireless deployment will enhance fleet performance. However, 56 percent of 300 respondents in eyefortransport's latest Wireless Truck Report said that they were unprepared for the challenges they would face.
Eighty-nine percent of respondents said they would need to have a master plan to integrate new wireless applications with existing legacy technology.
Kevin Bott, CIO of Ryder, will review the company’s latest telematics pilot. Conference attendees will get the inside story on the lessons learned, deployment challenges, and unexpected benefits realized.
Survey results are published in the 5th Annual “Wireless Truck USA 2006/7” Report and can be downloaded now at: www.eyefortransport.com/wirelesstruck/wireless_report_2007.shtml.
