Fleet FAQ? Fleet Management & Leasing

Q. How do we know if we need to comply with the ELD Mandate?

A. The law applies to all interstate Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs) as defined by the Department of Transportation that are required to maintain logs, which would affect those currently using paper logs, logging software or automated onboard recording devices (AOBRDs). In addition to trucking and busing, this can include fleets with box trucks, passenger vans, and even some heavy-duty pickups. A good rule of thumb is any vehicle that has a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of over 10,001 pounds is likely impacted by the new mandate.
