While considered a relatively modern creation, these photos show that commercial truck fleets have existed for nearly 100 years.

This fleet of Ford Model T trucks circa the 1920s are arrayed in front of Hallock's appliance store location on Main Street in Derby, Conn., shows that fleets of the time were orderly and professional-looking operations, with well-maintained vehicles and well-dressed drivers. The family-owned discount appliance store has operated for more than a century and is currently located in West Haven, Conn. The Derby location closed about 20 years ago.

The second photo of an outing from 1927 shows that Hallock's fleet drivers not only worked together but they enjoyed the off hours together as well.
