COLUMBUS, IN - Forecasts for both heavy-duty and medium-duty vehicles remain basically unchanged from last month, according to the October issue of the ACT North American Commercial Vehicle OUTLOOK, published by ACT Research Co. (ACT).

"Although concerns about the forward movement of the U.S. and world economies have intensified in recent weeks, we do not yet believe that a recession is inevitable or imminent," said Sam Kahan, ACT's chief economist. "Continued strength is being demonstrated in both the medium-duty and heavy-duty markets. Class 8 orders rose above expectations in August while cancellations remained modest."

ACT is the worldwide leading publisher of new and used commercial vehicle (CV) industry data, market analysis and forecasting services for the North American market. ACT also covers the U.S. tractor-trailer market and the China CV market. For more information on ACT, visit http://www.actresearch.net.
