FULLERTON, CA - Fleet owners and truck operators take note: A free set of Yokohama Tire Corporation's top-of-the-line Zenvironment commercial tires, worth $5,000, are up for grabs. Just stop by Yokohama's booth (14124) at the upcoming Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS), March 25-27 at the Kentucky Expo Center in Louisville, Kentucky and register to win.

It's that easy: one lucky MATS attendee will win eight Yokohama 703ZL drive tires and two 101ZL steer tires simply by signing up at the booth. Besides the tires, Yokohama will provide the winner free installation and valve stems at the Yokohama dealer of their choice, according to John Cooney, Yokohama director of commercial sales.

"The economy continues to be tough, and we are pleased to be able to offer a prize that helps reduce operating costs for years to come for one lucky fleet or owner operator attending MATS," Cooney said. "Come by the booth and register to win our new 101ZL steer tire, which we will be launching at the show, and the 703ZL drive tire. Both tires are part of our eco-sensitive Zenvironment line and are on the EPA's SmartWaySM list of verified technologies for tires. We now have seven tires that are recognized as SmartWay "low rolling resistance tires."

The 101ZL, which will be available October 2010 in four sizes (295/75R22.5, 11R22.5, 11R24.5 and 285/75R24.5), is a premium steer tire designed for long-haul operations. It features enhanced durability, excellent longevity and greater fuel efficiency. "Ideal," said Cooney, "for fleet owners and truck operators. The tires last longer and help preserve the environment because they are more fuel efficient."

Cooney said the high-tech, ultra-long mileage 703ZL tire features the deepest tread in the industry - one full inch - with the lowest rolling resistance in its category. It also has a solid closed shoulder that provides even wear, which translates to more road miles. Other features include an optimum rubber compound for higher mileage and improved cut- and chipping-resistance; a funnel-shaped groove wall that is wider at the top for enhanced traction, yet narrows at the bottom to prevent stones and other road debris from traveling to the bottom; and a new base compound that significantly reduces tire heat buildup and improves tread wear.  The 703ZL also uses a revolutionary compound and innovative casing designs to contribute to extended mileage and greater chip resistance.

Yokohama is a strong supporter of the tire care and safety guidelines established by the Rubber Manufacturers Association and the National Highway Transportation and Safety Administration. Details can be found at the "Tire Safety" section at www.yokohamatire.com.
