PRINCETON, NJ - The NAFA Fleet Management Association, in conjunction with the Environmental Defense Fund, will host a free webinar March 10 on securing federal grant money toward the purchase of medium-duty and heavy-duty trucks.
According to a NAFA spokesperson, the recently-signed American Recovery and Reinvestment Act sets aside hundreds of millions of dollars for grants toward the purchase of new hybrid medium-duty and heavy-duty trucks. The law requires the money to be applied for and spent quickly to stimulate the economy.
"To receive any of this funding, fleets must move quickly!" urged Patrick McCarren, NAFA deputy executive director.
Scheduled at 11:30 a.m. EST, the webinar will cover:
The grant application process.
Application submittal timelines.
Tips on taking advantage of the law's potential nuances.
Suggestions on forming coalitions among fleet organizations.
The webinar can be accessed from fleet manager's computers, McCarren noted. "No registration fee. No need to leave your office. Easy-to-use MSLive software." Participants will be required to download the free software.
Reservations are required by 3 p.m., EST, March 6. Space is limited. To sign up for the webinar, e-mail McCarren at pmccarren@nafa.org. A separate email will be sent to registrants with login instructions, password, and the link to the MSLive software.
