FULLERTON, CA – Yokohama Tire Corporation’s Geolandar H/T-S tire has been named by Consumer Digest as one of its “2009 Best Buys.” The monthly publication awarded the Geolandar H/T-S the Best Buy designation in two tire categories: All-Season SUV/Truck (Geolandar G051) and Performance SUV/Truck (Geolandar G052).
The Best Buy list, which is featured in Consumer Digest’s February 2009 issue, is chosen by its editors based on results from independent testing, consumer surveys, technical experts, and hands-on evaluations.
“Earning Consumer Digest’s Best Buy designation reaffirms Yokohama’s commitment to quality and value,” said Dan King, Yokohama vice president, sales and marketing. “The Geolandar H/T-S is an exceptional tire and we’re proud of the recognition we have received from the editors.”
According to King, the Geolandar H/T-S G051 and G052 tires provide all-season durability, comfort and handling, and offer 44 sizes ranging from 15 inches to 22 inches. The integrated design and construction of the Geolandar H/T-S G051 and G052 deliver an excellent ride, superior Yokohama performance and long life.
Additionally, large shoulder blocks provide strength and stiffness for outstanding cornering, special tread compounds help deliver high-mileage durability, cross-grooves enhance the H/T-S’ all-season capabilities in snow and ice, and constant contact tread blocks reduce low-pitch noise caused by air passing through the tire grooves.
The G052, the sporty version of the G051, features a full jointless nylon cap ply and edge covers for increased durability, as well as a higher speed rating, unidirectional tread design and high-performance casing profile for quick steering response while retaining ride comfort.
