International Dealer Network’s Top Technicians Compete at Rodeo
GLENDALE
HEIGHTS, IL – In a head-to-head, hands-on test of
their technical skill and speed, eight of the top service technicians in the
International dealer network will compete to determine who is the best of the
best at the second annual Navistar Service-Technician Rodeo on May 14.
To test
their skills in eight key areas of commercial truck and engine service,
International dealer technicians from across North America will gather at
Universal Technical Institute in Glendale Heights, Ill., to compete at stations
simulating service areas for air conditioning, brakes, drive train, electrical,
and preventative maintenance, as well as I-6, V-8 and V-6 engines.
“Only an
elite group of Diamond-Certified technicians are allowed to participate in this
event,” said Vaughn Allen, vice president, product and customer support,
Navistar. “This means all participants have Automotive Service Excellence
certification for the United States
or Canadian Provincial Licensing for Canada and are International
certified in all of our categories”
Out of
342 eligible technicians, 250 took the rodeo online qualifying exam on Mar. 6.
Of those, eight were chosen to represent each region of the United States and Canada at this year’s rodeo.
