THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS - FleetPride, Inc., an independent aftermarket distributor of heavy-duty truck and trailer parts, announced it completed the acquisition of Fleet Supply of Tallahassee, Inc. The acquisition includes a 11,300 square foot warehouse and machine shop located at 720 Blountstown Highway. With this acquisition, FleetPride now has nine locations throughout Florida.
Fleet Supply of Tallahassee, previously owned by Van and Dorothy Johnson, has been in business since 1965. Van Johnson, who started his career with Fleet Supply at the age of 16, will stay on as Branch Manager.
"Fleet Supply of Tallahassee has a strong local customer base that compliments FleetPride's strong national account presence. Previously, FleetPride was serving the southern Georgia and northern Florida markets through our Dothan, Alabama branch. With the Tallahassee acquisition, we can now more readily provide the best customer service, expanded product inventory, and faster delivery to all of our existing (as well as new) customers in the Florida panhandle and its surrounding markets. We are pleased to welcome the Fleet Supply team members to the FleetPride family," said Pete Painter, Vice President and Regional Manager, Southeast Region.
"The acquisition of Fleet Supply of Tallahassee fits within FleetPride's strategic plan to invest in established heavy duty truck part suppliers in well-defined markets. By acquiring a location in Tallahassee, FleetPride expands our coverage in northern Florida and southern Georgia while leveraging the existing infrastructure already in place in this region," said Mike Paxton, Vice President Business Development and Strategic Planning. "We see an exciting, growth-oriented future for FleetPride in Tallahassee."
