READING, PA - Kenneth McKibben, former head of Maintenance for Penske Truck Leasing for over 40 years, announced the formation of a new transportation consultant company, Single Source Transportation Solutions.
The company, headquartered in Reading, Pa., will provide consultant services in the transportation industry.
"Our mission is to be an essential link between fleets and manufacturers," said McKibben. "We're a group of affiliated consultants, under one roof, providing support for manufacturers and fleets including technical training, vehicle specifications, performance measurement, and maintenance policies and procedures."
Single Source will evaluate fleet operations and recommend specific strategies regarding performance, safety and fleet expansion/contraction.
"Each member of Single Source has an average of 35 years experience in fleet management," McKibben continued. "We can provide expert guidance in areas of truck maintenance, component evaluation, failure analysis and fuel consumption."
While at Penske, McKibben was responsible for the maintenance strategies and actions for over 200,000 vehicles and relationships with over 200 manufacturers. McKibben has been recognized as a leading expert in maintenance, particularly involving medium and heavy-duty trucks. His portfolio of contributions has been recognized by the industry:
Maintenance Man of the Year
Member of the American Truck Association for over 25 years
Member of the Maintenance and Technology Association (TMC) for over 25 years
Member of the Society of Automotive Engineers
McKibben stated Single Source is already discussing contracts with several fleet operators and manufacturers.
"We're here to provide solid guidance to fleets and evaluate products to ensure they meet high standards, thereby improving life cycles and driving more profitability for fleet operators," concluded McKibben.
